Goodbye California

I have lived in Southern California my whole life. I grew up in the Inland Empire and later moved to Orange County to work at Disneyland, where I met my spouse, and Orange County soon became our home for 13 years. We adopted our dogs and, not long after, welcomed our human kids into the family, turning our house into a home. Over the years we built a strong, supportive village around us, friends, neighbors, and colleagues who became like family and we continued to grow closer, more resilient, and more grateful every single day.

But now, it is time for a new chapter, one we've been building and dreaming about for 13 years. Our little family of six (four humans and two dogs) is packing up and moving to the beautiful and magical Pacific Northwest, trading sunshine for evergreen forests, misty mornings, and new horizons. We’re filled with a mix of excitement, wistful nostalgia, and curious optimism for what comes next, eager to learn and to make new memories together.

In my Goodbye California Series I will be sharing places in SoCal I have never visited, the foods I’ll miss most, and the familiar spots that have always felt like home, as well as the stories and people who made this place special to us. Follow along to see where the California sun takes us, and to join in our transition as we embrace the next adventure. Until next time <3
